The US must give Kyiv the weapons it needs right now: ex-envoy to Moscow

The US should give Kyiv the weapons it needs to defend itself from Russian aggression, former US Ambassador to Moscow Michael McFaul said in an opinion piece for The Washington Post.



"The United States must provide the Ukrainian military with the weapons it needs to defend itself," McFaul wrote.


"This is not a decision to be taken lightly. But given Russia’s continuing escalation in Ukraine, the time has come for the United States to provide Kyiv with the means to deter and defend itself," he added.
